About: Fat Files

February24

While Jason was in seminary, his Discipleship Lab prof, Jim George, gave to all the guys’ wives in the lab the now well-known book “A Woman After God’s Own Heart,” written by his lovely wife, Elizabeth. I love that book, and very much appreciate the God-oriented wisdom in it as I live for God in the various roles and activities of my life. One suggestion Liz makes in the chapter on intentional spiritual growth is to create “five fat files.” She suggests picking five areas you’d like to grow in and limit your studying to those five areas, to pursue knowledge purposefully. I’ve worked on that somewhat over the years, but much less formally since becoming a mommy. Now I’m back at it, hoping to better organize what I learn in order to better serve and follow hard after the Lord. For the time being as well as for the sake of this blog, I’ve chosen my five:

Monday – Heaven-Bound

Tuesday – Food Allergies

Wednesday – Stewardship

Thursday – Biblical Counseling

Friday – Creative Outlet

As a bonus, Jason will post something on Saturdays. After all, his name is on the website too. ;)
