The Wood Family

On Saturday we made one last visit to see the Norris family before they move to Florida. Now, when you go to Ben’s house, you learn how an everday object can become an instrument, sometimes watch an educational music-related DVD, and the boys always have a marching band! It’s a good alternative for my car-obsessed boys! Here’s where we tried gathering them on the couch for a photo.

Last night was Lagniappe and the start of the Big Bright Light Show downtown. We bundled up and drove around for half an hour looking for a spot to park and then made our way through the droves of people to enjoy the happy hustle and bustle and a free carriage ride around the block. I liked the carolers and brass band cranking out the Christmas tunes and the boys love all the colors and the Christmas displays in all of the store windows. Makes me happy to be back in my hometown!

Even when we get just a light dusting the kids beg to play in the snow. Here is them in their first snowplay of the year although we’ve barely had a real snowfall yet. Maybe today counts.

Do I get some kind of extra credit for letting the boys thoroughly enjoy the mud???

We have enjoyed a beautiful, warmer than usual, sunnier than expected, autumn so I can’t be too surprised to now see those snow flurries in the air. It helps - a little - that the boys are so excited by the snow. I guess it is time.
