We received coupons in the mail for a free loaf of bakery bread from Papa Joe’s every week from October through February (!) and have been enjoying trying all different varieties. Last night I picked up a (normally $5+) loaf of vanilla egg challah and made french toast with it this morning. I’m not even a fan of french toast, but this was good - highly recommend it!

Even Jason ate breakfast - unusual for him. Zach took his picture. :)

At long last, Aunt Sherbert is in town. It has been so long since we have seen Jason’s Aunt Sherry that all we can remember is that it was before Zachary was born. It was wonderful to see her, but bittersweet since the occasion was Jason’s Great Aunt Ila’s passing. The funeral service was September 18.

This year’s Woodward Dream Cruise was August 16, which means for the entire week prior cool cars are cruising up and down Woodward Avenue. We went out a couple different nights to see some sweet rides.

Bryce and Isaac take in the sights (and smells and sounds…)

So, for part III of Zachary’s birthday adventure, we went to Flint to see Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad with the Norris family. We had a great time there, seeing turn of the century (1900’s that is) living, dancing to a fiddler’s tunes, seeing model trains, and riding on this train here. Then it was”naps” for the kids at the Norris home, then a delish grilled dinner together. Fun times with great friends!!

Jason took the day off on Zachary’s b’day to take him to The Henry Ford Museum to see all sorts of cars and trains and trucks and planes - all of his favorites!
