For years Jason & Ryan have been planning their goal of making it to the Olympics in the sport of curling. Sunday played an all-important role in helping fulfill that dream as they curled for the first time. Ryan & Emily found out about the nearby Chicago Curling Club and made plans for their debut lesson. They all really enjoyed it and have some budding talent. I’ll be joining the team (or rink, as it’s called) sometime when I’m not pregnant.

…BOY!!!! No surprise to any who know the first-born Wood men tradition. Let’s just say no one expects Jason to have girls. We are thrilled and think Zach will be too. Best of all, the baby appears healthy and on-track developmentally. Certainly Psalm 139:13-16 comes to mind,

“For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.”

We praise and thank God for this little one and ask His continued protection and superintendence on his life. Most of all we pray this baby comes to know his Creator as Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and Friend.

We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in Texas with my (Lindsay’s) parents for Christmas and New Year’s. Zachary & I were actually there for three weeks – with gorgeous sunny weather every day – we loved it! Jason, Lauren & Nils joined us December 23 – January 1 and it was so good to all be together. Here are a couple pics – one of Jason, Zachary and me on Christmas Eve and then Mom, Dad, Lauren, Nils, Jason & me on New Year’s Eve!
