The Wood Family

One of my favorite things in life these days is finding Zachary’s cars in the oddest places. I am repeatedly amused at where I find his favorite playthings because he plays with them all the time in creative ways.

On my birthday I think I’ll post a picture I took of Bryce last week. I love the pure joy in his eyes and tongue. His smile captures the mood of the day. Jason brought me a Ryan Finnelly style chai (no H2O. xtra foam) before he left for work, Brian & Kirsten took me out to the Pancake House (a favorite), I’ve had kind b’day wishes and e-mail messages from family and friends, the boys are well behaved (Zach even called me “Pretty Momma”), and we have dinner plans at Kruse & Muer (another favorite). Good stuff! “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17)!

No, not ours! Ryan & Emily Finnelly have appx one month until they are proud parents. Jason and I drove to Chicago for the weekend for Emily’s shower and as a good excuse to see Ry & Em and get away together. We packed much fun into our 24 hour visit. Emily looks fantastic and seems to feel equally well, which is great. She even got up early after a late night to make us coffee and muffins before church. Whoa. Grandma & Grandpa and Uncle Todd did a fabulous job taking care of Zachary and Bryce, as we knew they would.

Bryce is an all-around happy baby most of the time, and he definitely likes his big brother! He enjoys watching Zach play and loves when Zach talks to him. Just this morning Z was interacting with B and even handed him one of his cars (not that Bryce knows to take it yet). Let’s see if he’s as good at sharing when Bryce starts crawling and licking things.
