Friday was a fun few hours at The Detroit Zoo with my old pal from high school youth group, Jill, and her 8 month old son, J.C.
This was our first time at the kangaroo exhibit. All three boys liked touching the fur sample.
We saw lots more fun animals too!
And the Arctic Ring of Life exhibit is always a favorite…
Happy times!

After being without a camera for two weeks (the cider mill pictures were on Brian & Kirsten’s camera), Jason decides he doesn’t want anymore of the boys’ childhood to go undocumented. Heehee. What a softie. It cost just $50 more to buy a new camera vs repair our old one which is now pretty outdated compared to the newer and much cheaper Canon PowerShot SD1000 we purchased. This camera has a lot of cool features and takes some sweet pictures. The boys and I went to the zoo today with Jill and baby J.C. so I got to try some different settings like “kids and pets” and “aquarium” and “foliage.” Once I get some new batteries in the mouse I’ll post those. (The batteries are in our room where Bryce is napping.) For now, here’s one of the boys from this morning.

…although $14 for cider and doughnuts seems a little steep

It’s that time of year again! Cider Mill time! Whoever wants to visit Michigan, come now or, better yet, next month for the full autumn experience of cool weather, leaves changing and falling and delicious fresh apple cider and fresh doughnuts and all the other yummies. We went both yesterday and today to the nearby Franklin Cider Mill. Next weekend, Yates Cider Mill! Or maybe apple picking and the mill at Big Red. So fallish! So fun! (And for those just joining us, that’s Jason’s brother and family, Brian, Kirsten and 7-mo old Isaac, and Jason’s mom, aka Grandma.)
