“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son” (1 John 5:11)

We love celebrating Jesus’ birth because His birth meant God Himself wrapping Himself in human flesh and coming to live the life we couldn’t live to die in our place and redeem us. Not only did He die but He rose again, giving us the same promise of eternal life.

Indeed, “Today in the town of David a SAVIOR has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). Amen!

No school today! I was bummed for no preschool Christmas party but the boys were excited to get more use of their snowpants and boots.

LOTS of snow today!

And here is Bryce’s opinion of it all:

For any gals looking for some direction in devotions this season, as I know some are as we’ve talked, I recommend using the Mahaney ladies’ blog as a springboard:girl talk. Good stuff.

We received coupons in the mail for a free loaf of bakery bread from Papa Joe’s every week from October through February (!) and have been enjoying trying all different varieties. Last night I picked up a (normally $5+) loaf of vanilla egg challah and made french toast with it this morning. I’m not even a fan of french toast, but this was good – highly recommend it!

Even Jason ate breakfast – unusual for him. Zach took his picture. :)
