I asked Jason if he wouldn’t mind putting a little gel in Bryce’s hair to spike the front just a little bit and this is what I get. On a Sunday morning nonetheless. Yes, Jason & Bryce won and he went to church like that. Gotta love ‘em.

Saturday was such a fun day. We got out the door early to get our free tote from the farmer’s market…

…and also enjoyed free doughnuts…

…and a free sunflower, which we planted yesterday in our sunny front yard…

…and a free Mother’s Day activity – planting cilantro to grow and use in salsa.

We enjoyed free samples, too, and all of the free prompted me to let the boys each choose a flower to plant,

plus I bought a cucumber and a bell pepper. Yum. Lots to enjoy there!

And then over a couple blocks to Bean & Leaf for our morning joe. Really cool place for coffee.

Look alikes?

From there Zach & I walked while Jas & Bryce drove over to the park and we played for an hour or so…

…before heading to The Village to make free (key word here today)
Mother’s Day cards. (I haven’t peeked yet!)

And THEN Kirsten & Isaac came over and we packed a picnic lunch to nosh at the same park after some serious play.

Bryce, my lollygagger, wanted to stop and smell the flowers so they rolled around in the grass for a bit on our walk back.

Then back home for some naps!
But the fun’s not over! The boys have been begging to go to the fair, since they see the ferris wheel every day and are very curious, so we stopped by after dinner. The prices were a little steep for our taste but they got to ride the train and loved it.

And last, but certainly not least in my book, was a stop at Starbucks. We brought library books for the boys to read while Jason and I chatted and played cards. Livin’ the good life.

Fun day!
